A little update on my challenge progress as at the end of May:

1. Anne of Green Gables – LM Montgomery
2. Anne of Avonlea – LM Montgomery
3. The Brethren – John Grisham
4. A Short History of Nearly Everything – Bill Bryson
5. The Red Queen – Phillipa Gregory
6. The White Queen – Phillipa Gregory
7. The Book Thief – Markus Zusak (NEW)
8. The Partner – John Grisham
9. PS I Love You – Cecilia Ahern
10. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams
11. Restaurant at the end of the Universe – Douglas Adams
12. Life, The Universe and Everything – Douglas Adams
13. So Long and Thanks for all the Fish – Douglas Adams
14. Mostly Harmless – Douglas Adams
15. Change in Altitude – Anita Shreve (NEW)
16. Change Baby – June Spence (NEW)
17. The Life and Times – via ff.net, Marauders-era HP fanfic (which I feel justified in including – at 577k+ words it’s nearly THREE times longer than the Deathly Hallows) (NEW)

There are also a couple of easy reads that I’ve had on my iPad, but they’ve made such an impression on me that I’ve forgotten the names/authors, and the iPad needs charging, so I’ll have to add them in later.

That brings me to a total of 17 books, 13 re-reads and 4 new reads, as at the end of May. How’s everyone else going in the challenge?

  1. I am desperately trying to get my boys room and nursery finished off so i can spend some quiet reading time guilt free! I have nearly finished 3, still 6 months to go though!

  2. There are some great books on your list. I also recently read the Book Thief and loved it. I’m also really intrigued that you added fan fiction. It’s something I’ve always been interested in, but don’t really know where to start.

    • I got sucked into fanfiction via The Lizzie Bennet Diaries and Tumblr – and I read heaps!! But most are quite short and/or in small instalments, so I haven’t included any. The Harry Potter one I found also via Tumblr. If you are interested, check out archiveofourown.org – then pick your fandom and start reading!!

    • I liked it. Though like feels like the wrong word. It was very well written, and very moving, I bawled like a baby. Definitely worth a read, but just keep the tissues close by!
